Protect the Blasphemer
Veterans of the Tertios

The Blasphemer was deployed in the center of the board, exact position also via a drawn card. In the top left are the Veterans of the Tertios, top right the Defenders of the Crown and bottom right The Order of the Broken Cross.

Turn 1

Johann took aim, and (with the aid of his his pact with the devil), placed the bullet right into Longinus chest, only barely missing the heart. (With a Hearts Eight drawn from the deck, scoring a Triumph, the attack caused 6 damage, instantly crippling Longinus.)
As a response, Wołodyjowski charged Johann; one of the Guardsmen came to support Johann, flanking Wołodyjowski.
The second Guardsman drew his pistol, and fired it at Longinus, who had taken cover from Johann’s deadly mark behind a corner. The Guardsman reinforced the drawn cards, causing another 3 damage on Longinus, leaving him barely alive with only one wound remaining.

Wołodyjowski attacked Johann using a card from his hand and a Fencing token for a boost, but Johann got lucky and drew a Red Joker from his deck! Wołodyjowski lost the combat and used a second Fencing token, to parry the attack. In the Riposte, both drew from their deck, with a draw as result.

Turn 2

Seeing the half-dead Longinus, the second Footman charged in, eager to finish him off. Longinus fired a quick shot, dealing two damage before being engaged.
The Dragoon fired down the long hallway on the Knecht, also causing two damage.
The Blasphemer tried to uncover Sancho Panza, but failed (7 vs 8).
Johann recharged his airgun, loading the diabolical Freikugel.
Friedrich managed to uncover Sancho Panza, suddenly making sense of that inconspicuous figure walking in the middle of a skirmish.

Even half dead, Longinus had no issues killing the footman.
Eisenhans was fighting a Hidalgo. With the Hidalgo drawing the Red Joker from the deck, he stood no chance and received three damage to his legs, where he wore the least armour.
The Knecht fought the newly identified enemy, Sancho Panza, to a draw. Sancho had to retreat.

Turn 3

Johann fired his Freikugel on Wołodyjowski, but abysmally missed (drawing a 2), thus getting hit by his own devilish ammunition, suffering one damage himself! This is the level of trustworthiness you can expect, when making a deal with the devil…
image
Friedrich fought El Capitan, causing one damage. El Capitan used his parry to fight a second round. He barely managed not to get wounded by Friedrich, but only by reinforcing with two cards from his hand!
Wołodyjowski fought Johann again, and caused three damage using two of his fencing tokens. Johann would have been worse off, had he not reinforced his result with two cards from his hand.
The Knecht also fought El Capitan. With no cards and no fencing tokens left, El Capitan suffered two damage from the lowly Commoner. He fell prone to the floor.
image
Eisenhans fought the Hidalgo again, but still had no luck… The hidalgo played an eight from his hand, while Eisenhans drew a Black Joker from his deck… Eisenhans lost his last wound and was dead.

Turn 4

Friedrich played a six from hand, while the others drew from their deck for the initiative. This payed off, as he won the initiative and quickly ran the Blasphemer away from the other warbands.
But the space was too tight, and the Hidalgo was able to pursue, and engage the Blasphemer.
Sancho Panza started a sprint, but tripped over some banana peels on the floor, and fell prone.
Friedrich moved in to protect the Blasphemer, and attacked the Hidalgo. Both boosted one card, but Friedrich managed to win and caused one damage.
Don Quichote quickly cut down the Footman.
Wołodyjowski finally managed to impale Johann and kill him.
The Knecht again fought El Capitan, who had gotten back to his feet. The Knecht played an eight from his hand, El Capitan drew from the deck, and still only lost by one. He parried. In the Riposte, the El Capitan drew the Black Joker from the deck and was dead, after the Knecht boosted his card for the last wound.

Turn 5

The Knecht, just having cut down El Capitan, was unenganged, and used the situation to attack Don Quixote with his crossbow, but missed. The Blasphemer moved into a small room, being shielded by the Knecht. Don Quixote charged the Knecht, wanting to remove him to be able to get to the Blasphemer.
The Defenders of the Crown moved in and surrounded the Order of the Broken Cross.
image
Don Quichote fought Knecht, who played Red Joker, thus causing one wound on old Don. But Don’s Mambrino’s Helmet caught the blow, shattered but left him unharmed.
Friedrich fought the Hidalgo again, who won this time and caused two damage on Friedrich. Friedrich parried, and in the Riposte drew the Red Joker from the deck! This time the Hidalgo tried to parry, but failed, and was dead!

Turn 6

Sancho Panza fired on Friedrich, causing two wounds.
Don Quixote fought the Knecht, but only managed a draw, so both had to withdraw.
image

Turn 7

The Dragoon shot down the long hallway and caused four damage on Sancho Panza.
With the Knecht and Don Quixote having withdrawn from before the small room the Blasphemer was hiding in, Zkrzetuski moved in, and convinced him that The Order of the Broken Cross was nearly wiped out, while the Defenders of the Crown still stood strong. Reluctantly, the Blasphemer switched sides.
Longinus fired his pistol on Don Quixote, but missed.
This last shot made the Watchmen arrive, and all survivors quickly faded into the shadows…
