For the Ember Guard faction I choose IAF129 Prang Army Troopers - Pose 3 from Alternative Armies. I based the models on washers, and hid the integral bases with plaster.
I airbrushed them Molotow Black, then applied a Daler-Rowney White Ink zenithal. This was followed by a PRO Acryl Bold Titanium White drybrush.

As the main color is semi-transparent, I started with the mid-tone.

- adding Schmincke Zinc White to the previous step, for some select edge highlights
