The scenario we played was Counter Attack, the Soviets trying to dislodge the Wehrmacht forces.
Turn 1
Turn 1 – Soviets
The Soviets opened the battle with artillery, firing their 122mm howitzers on the Panzer IVs, and the Katyusha batteries targeted the PAKs on the road; suppressing Wehrmacht units.
The the Soviet advance began across the whole front.
Turn 1 – German
The Germand also started with an artillery barrage with their 105mm guns, causing suppression among the Soviet infantry;
and on a Soviet truck column.
The truck column was precisely hit, and two trucks failed their quality checks.
Not staying passive, the German armour counter-attacked.
The Panthers moved onto the hill, and opened fire on the advancing T-34s.
Turn 2
Turn 2 – Soviet
The Katyushas shifted their fire on the German PAKs which were placed on the hill on the far right German flank. The three Katyushas only managed an inaccurate barrage, and caused suppressions.
Three 152mm batteries fired on the t-juntion and destroyed 2 Panthers.
Again, the forces advanced.
The SU85s suppressed one Panther with their fire.
Turn 2 – German
The three German 150mm batteries had some communication troubles, the messages from the forward observers only came through garbled, therefore their fire was was inaccurate. Still, the destroyed one gun truck.
The other battery of three 150mm guns suffered from the same communication problems, and also provided inaccurate fire support, which only caused suppression.
German movement was limited.
The Panthers destroyed two T34s, one with tank riders still mounted.
The anti tank guns opened fire on the approaching Soviet Cavalry and killed one stand.
Turn 3
Turn 3 – Soviet
The Katjusha placed an effective barrage on the PAKs, one Sd.Kfz. and PAK were destroyed.
The Soviets continued their steady advance.
Cavalry killed one ATG crew with their rifles, the T-34s destroyed 2 Sd.Kfz.s.
The T-34s in center targeted the opposing Panzer IVs, which shot first on overwatch without effect, but also suffered no casualties in return.
On the Soviet right flank, 2 Panthers were destroyed.
Turn 3 – German
No artillery fire this turn.
The Germans slightly repositioned, then opened fire but with limited results.
Turn - 4
Turn 4 – Soviet
The Soviet artillery fire (120mm & 152mm) destroyed one Puma and suppressed three Panzer IVs.
The Katyusha barrage suppressed three PAKs and transports.
The Soviet 120mm mortars also targeted the PAKs on the left russian flank, but the crew passed their quality checks.
The 120mm and 80mm mortar fire on the center German ATG caused suppression among the German gun crews.
The Soviets continued to advance and press the German positions.
The Panthers on the hill on the right Soviet flank fired on the T-34s that moved to the edge of the wood, causing three hits each. One tank saved two hits due to the wood modifier, but both T-34s were destroyed.
In the center, the Soviets destroyed one enemy vehicle and cause suppression.
The advancing Soviet tanks received defensive fire from the German PAKs, which resulted in one SU85 and one T-34 being destroyed.
One more SU85 got destroyed, before the JS2s fire destroyed two Panthers, the last surviving's crew passed their quality check.
The T-34s destroyed the last Panther on that German flank.
The German PAKs received several suppression results, but their crews held firm.
One Panzer IV got suppressed, three destroyed; the crew of the surviving one faield their quality test and bailed out.
The JS2s missed with their fire on the Tiger IIs.
The T-34s opened fire on the SD.Kfz.s, and destroyed them all.
The Soviet cavalry attacked at short range, and nearly wiped out the Germans.
Soviet Victory
As the Soviet forces had destroyed ⅓+ of the German forces, they scored a victory at that point, and the surviving German forces withdrew.
