The non-rocky areas were basecoated in a dark brown.
I then added the same mix of flock and terrarium sand as with the [SiFi] 90's Inspired 40,000 Alien Plants, but left out any larger stones, the hills will be moved over, perhaps even have some other scatter terrain or hills placed on them, so should be fairly smooth.
I the following picture, you see the difference between Paepercuts Scenic Glue Recipe (which I used on the other terrain, so far) and AK Ineractive's Gravel and Sand Fixer; tge scenic glue does darken the sand quite a bit, the Fixer keeps the original colour without any darkening. As I used the Fixer on all the Star Wars mini bases, I think I will need to use it as well at least on the top of the hills…
Here you can see, that the first layer of sand did not cover very well, so I had to apply a second layer, hiding my experiments.
