Umbra Turris is a skirmish level game (~10 minis per side). There are different mostly typical fantasy-typical factions (Dwarves, Gnomes, Elves, Goblins, Humans), but also some game specific races and monsters. You can build one-race-only warbands (which provides some boni), or multi-race warbands (based on a grid of faction alignment) which might give you capabilities you don't get within one of the factions.

The melee system has a part that is rock-paper-scissors like, which is also an interesting change.

As of the time of writing, I am still working on my second warband, so this is also one of the games I never actually played…
