Both sides moved onto the map, bringing again both a 32 BSP Manticore Heavy Tank (HPPC) as support. The game continued the previous one; the initiative roll of DDD in round 1 was snake eyes… BSB on the other hand hit against 11 and rolled snake eyes for the hit zone - luckily without scoring a critical hit.
In round 2, the Marauder came a bit too far forward and stood a bit too exposed. DDD's Manticore had a to-hit roll of 5+ and rolled a 4… of course. The Warhammer, for once, hit with a full salvo. The Marauder's left torso was open, but no crit was caused.
Following that, BSP retreated towards their edge, while DDD gave careful chase. The Manticore hit this time, also the left torso, and caused two critical hits, engine and double heat sink!
To set off this success, the Warhammer this turn missed both PPCs against 6 (rolled 5 and 2…). After all, in return the Marauder missed the Warhammer with 2 PPCs and the Large Pulse laser against 7.
BSB continued to fall back, while DDD continued to miss.
Boldened by the lack of marksmenship on the side of DDD, BSB did not yet retreat, trying to snatch a draw.
When the Marauder, Hatchetman and Manticore got solid hits on the Warhammer, he did not only lost 2 double heat sinks in his left torso, he also didn't manage the piloting roll against 6 and the machine fell to the ground.
Not being able to move very far after getting up, BSB closed in, sensing the option to not loose this battle.
Like in the Track 2 game, the Manticore ended the game - by hitting the Warhammers head this time with 15 damage!!! At least, Gunny Dougie survived the Skin-of-the-Teeth ejection with 5 hits.
Of course, half of the return fire missed BSB, and the few shots that hit the Marauder did not cause the remaining 3 internal hits in the left torso, which would have crippled that maching as well, causing a draw… Instead, the damage was spread over the maching, even landing the first hits of the game on the totally undamaged left leg.
So, DDD lost the third game in a row against BSP, all of its missions of contract 1.
