Then I applied three different layers of Krautcover Scenics base mixes, stones, grey aquarium sand and grass tufts to the bases, in some places "overgrowing" the roads or statues.
In between layers I soaked the flock in AK Interactive's Gravel and Sand Fixer, applied two coats of satin varnish from a spray can, to secure the flock, and harden the surface to protect it from miniatures being moved over it.
