For the 2023 Golden Gobbo Painting Competition on the Oldhammer Forum I dug out this model from my lead pile. It is not really an oldhammer model, rather a current-still-in-production model, but with an oldhammer charme and it is fittingly titled Chaos Warrior - Painting Contest (by Knightmare Miniatures). As usual, I mounted it on a metal base by Products for Wargamers.
I basecoated it in white from an The Army Painter's spray can.
I used this model as a test model for my recently acquired Kimera Kolors, basing the paint scheme on Pthalon Green and the old 'eavy Metal logo from back in the day.
I really liked the behaviour, especially when mixing different tones, of the Kimera Kolors. After the base colors and highlights/shades had been painted, I used oil washes and Dirty Down's Rust for extra shading and weathering effects.
After some final highlights, I used Krautcover Scenic's Common Earth Dark, Copious Earth and Meadows of Purity on the base.
