I cut lengths of string, and glued one end into the joint of upright and vertical beam. Once the glue had set, I wrapped the string around the joint, before gluing the end in place again. To push the string through and grap its end from the other side again, my sausage fingers did not help, so I used tweezers.
I had prepared some oils for washes, draining the excess oil.
With these I weathered the wood.
