The next effort to diminish my lead pile of chaos is beastmasters with their pack of chaos hounds.
For bases, I again used the metal bases from Products for Wargamers.
For the beastmasters I dug out two miniatures from Reaper Miniatures. They don't look like beastmasters, so to change that look I gave them the most beastmaster-iconic thing in my mind - whips.
The sword wielding guy got the sword chopped off, but I want to put it onto his belt, so I insterted a brass rod for the now missing hilt. I also drilled a hile into the side for pinning.
The other guy has an arm with an open hand; that hand gots replaced with the drum stick hand from an Games Workshop Chaos Marauder plastic kit.
The third beastmaster is from Gaspez-Arts, a fantasy football player. He has one fist, into which I simply drilled a hole and inserted a length of floral wire.
More wire was inserted into the whip hilts of the other two models.
The sword was pinned onto its wielder with another short piece of brass rod.
The mutant beastmaster got his whip wrapped in twine, which was then drenched in super glue.
The chaos hounds are from Heresy Miniatures. Either I mixed up some parts, or I got one wrong leg/body combination, one model's legs would not fit. So I attached the legs with floral wire. When you pay close attention, you can see that the hallux is on the wrong side of the leg for both his legs… which I only noticed while painting the mini… seems I made a mista… I was very creative when building this mini, and represented his chaos mutations by intentionally giving him two left feet!
Here is the whole unit.
